Welcome to Mareeba Heritage Museum & Visitor Information Centre.

Gain an insight into the region’s history and attractions by visiting the Mareeba Heritage Museum & Visitor Information Centre. The Centre is situated 63kms from Cairns on the southern outskirts of Mareeba on the Atherton Tablelands and is open from 9am – 5pm, seven days a week. Closed only on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Good Friday. Free entry, donations are much appreciated.

Free maps and information on Mareeba, the Tablelands and other regions are provided at the Centre. Visitors can gain expert information on what to see and do and book tours and accommodation from our friendly volunteers

Mareeba Heritage Museum & Visitor Information CentreMany visitors call into the Centre for tourist information and spend considerable time in the Heritage Museum. The majority of exhibits are not housed behind glass and there are many interactive exhibits which delight the children.

Mareeba Museum ShopThe Museum houses a small retail outlet with a large number of items for sale, ranging from souvenirs, art and craft and historical books on the region.   Also snacks, drinks and ice-creams are for sale where you can enjoy on the wide cool verandahs.

Local produce walks out the door including locally dried mango, fresh ground coffee, honey, teatree oil and much more.
