The Mareeba Shire has great potential for growth
which will be linked to the escalating tourist development in
the Cairns region. It is envisaged that substantial
residential development will take place in the eastern section
of the shire bounded by Mareeba, Kuranda
and Julatten.
It is also anticipated that many light industries will be established
in the Mareeba district to service the ever increasing tourist
development on the coast and further developments in the Gulf
and Cape York regions.
In addition the Mareeba Aerodrome is steadily
being developed and will probably become the light aircraft
centre for Far North Queensland as Cairns
International Airport is further utilised for overseas
flights. |
