Mareeba Heritage Museum - Tableland Historic Displays

 

 

Many visitors call into the Mareeba Heritage Museum for tourist information, then spend considerable time there because it's an attraction in itself with its intriguing displays.

Mareeba Heritage Museum

 

   
 

The Centre has an extensive aboriginal cultural display, a settler's hut showcasing historical memorabilia, turn-of-the-century telephone exchange, a printing press and a motor rail ambulance. There are also displays on mining, forestry, tobacco, agriculture and the wet tropics.

The wet tropics display features a cassowary (the flightless rainforest bird), other birdlife and rainforest vegetation. The museum is open from 8.00am to 4.00pm seven days a week.
