The Mareeba Visitor Information Centre is a central hub for visitors to Mareeba and the surrounding region. As well as providing unbiased, local advice from staff and volunteers, there’s a range of brochures, maps and other materials to help inform you of the many things to see, do and taste in Mareeba. Did you know our bountiful region produces 70% of Australia’s coffee crop and that some coffee growers have branched out to create delicious local chocolates? We do and we know the best places to sample it too.
There’s lots of free activities and natural attractions you can enjoy, including the nearby Davies Creek National Park which has clear, flowing streams and open eucalypt woodlands. Or the Granite Gorge Nature Park, which is on privately owned property, and provides the amazing opportunity to hand feed wild rock wallabies (ticketed entry). For bird lovers the Mareeba region is your kind of paradise, with nearly half of Australia’s 750 bird species recorded here. Not mention some world class tours, activities and facilities. From the assorted coffee plantations, to tropical fruit wineries and a boutique distillery, hot air ballooning or a scenic flight, Mareeba Shire has got it all.
Our dedicated team know the best places to go, see and stay and are on hand to help you plan your visit in our beautiful community. For your comfort, there are modern amenities available. Dogs are welcome but must be supervised and on a lead at all times (please remember to clean up after them).
