What To Do In Mareeba When It Is Raining

So what if it’s raining? There’s still lots to do!

Don’t let the rain dampen your experience, buy a poncho or put your own on and discover our region – there are lots of things you can do in and around Mareeba when it rains. Here’s some of our top suggestions.

    • Mareeba Heritage Museum. Browse through our Museum or watch a video of local attractions at the Visitor Information Centre.
    • Swimming! Swim in the water hole at Davies Creek National Park. It’s even better in the rain.
    • Drive to the Bunny Seary lookout and watch the rain fall on our beautiful valley.
    • Enjoy clambering up to Emerald Creek lookout on the clearly defined path; then take a swim on your return.
    • Rock jump with the Mareeba Rock Wallabies at Granite Gorge Nature Park.
    • Lift off from the Mareeba Airport with GBR Helicopters and experience ‘big sky country’.
    • Holidaying with your bike? Ride through gently-flowing single trail, hidden on the slopes of the Lamb Range.
    • Go on a delicious adventure at Coffee Works – explore their CoffeeWorld – they make chocolate too (and it’s so good!).
    • Take an Off-Road Segway Adventure at Jaques Segway or watch the Jaques Coffee Movie.
  • 18 holes of mini golf at the MAKO TRAC.
  • Spoil yourself with a massage or beauty treatment.
  • Bird watching – a twitchers paradise.
  • For a taste of the tropics, visit Golden Drop Winery for daily wine tastings.
  • Treat yourself to locally made ice-cream at the Emerald Creek Ice-Creamery – beware – they have 21 flavours!
  • Visit the Mareeba Centre Award Winning Mural based on the region’s history.
  • Lunch at Skybury whilst enjoying breathtaking views and the freshest fruit from their family farm.
  • Visit Queensland’s first distillery, Mt Uncle Distillery, with an unrivalled reputation producing award winning premium spirits and liqueurs – the Sexy Cat Marshmallow Liqueur is our favourite.
  • Ask about our local ‘Brewery Hole’ or visit the newly renovated Mareeba public swimming pool.

Rain keeps our country alive, so don’t let it dampen your spirits, get out and enjoy Mareeba.
