This month Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ), in partnership with Tourism Tropical North Queensland, the Queensland Tourism Industry Council and the Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport, identified the Mareeba Heritage Museum as a 2021 Best of Queensland Experience.
TEQ thanked the Mareeba Heritage Museum for their continued commitment to delivering an exceptional visitor experience amidst the challenges being faced by the tourism industry.
Each year the Best of Queensland Experiences Program assesses all operators with a live listing on the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) against a set of five weighted criteria that total 100 points. Operators do not need to apply to be part of the Best of Queensland Experiences Program. The Program is based on an independent set of criteria that incorporates online customer reviews, responds to consumer expectations and reflects industry best practice. Tourism products require at least 80 points out of 100 to be identified as a Best of Queensland Experience.
The Best of Queensland Experiences Program encourages all Queensland operators to exceed consumer expectations and deliver exceptional experiences, ensuring that every visitor leaves as an advocate for Queensland. This will create a strong, positive reputation for Queensland through word of mouth, leading to more visitors, expenditure and market share. The Best of Queensland Experiences are the best of the best tourism products, iconic locations and events that bring to life Queensland’s Hero Experiences and deliver these within each destination.
All operators in the Best of Queensland Experiences program receive an individual report providing valuable insights on consumer perceptions and how to improve the delivery of customer experiences to drive business performance. The information available in this report is valued at over $1,000.
Operators identified as Best of Queensland Experiences receive:
The Mareeba Heritage Museum is encouraged by this assessment and will continue to strive for the consistent delivery of an exceptional experience.
