The Mareeba Heritage Museum allows visitors to learn more about the local area’s incredibly rich and truly fascinating history. Our exhibits and displays are exceptionally high quality, many of which are available thanks to the generosity of local residents. With unrivaled attention to detail and a passion for education, there is no better way to learn about Mareeba’s fascinating history than to visit us at the Mareeba Heritage Museum.
The Museum occupies 1.425 hectares, comprised of indoor and outdoor displays and exhibits, which you can explore at your leisure. There’s an eclectic array of materials, curated to showcase key elements of Mareeba’s culture and heritage. Highlights include the Mareeba town streetscape, Jamieson House which was built in 1905 and Australia’s largest Tobacco Industry exhibit. The Mareeba Heritage Museum is located in Centenary Park, 345 Byrnes Street Mareeba. There is a small admission fee. There is an onsite coffee house for your convenience and public amenities.
