Make sure you allow plenty of time to explore the Mareeba Heritage Museum. Our extensive and diverse array of displays provide a window into the history of Mareeba, a lively place representing the growth of an energetic and wild, Australian country town. Our exhibits have been nationally recognised and include historical artefacts and photographs, building re-creations, machinery and much more.
Exploring the outside grounds you’ll find farming equipment, relics from our early fire service, a saddle shop, blacksmith shop, stockyards, goat carts and more. The Mareeba town streetscape makes for a great photo opportunity. Our interior exhibits have an emphasis on early living, multiculturalism and the natural environment. There’s areas dedicated to Mareeba’s Indigenous, early explorers and settlers, mining, the rainforest, timber industry and World War II. You can download a copy of our Visitor Map here and we look forward to seeing you at the Museum. Open 7 days with a Gift Shop, Coffee House, Visitor Information, Tours and Activities. Your admission supports the maintenance and programs of the Mareeba Heritage Museum.
