Did you know the Mareeba Shire Council area is rich with agricultural activities? A diverse array of crops are grown here, including but not limited to avocados, bananas, cashews, citrus, coffee, cow pea, custard apples, dolichos, flowers, fresh herbs, grapes, grass seed, legume seed, lettuce, longans, lychees, mangoes, mixed vegetables, navy beans, potatoes, passionfruit, paw paw, peaches, pineapples, pumpkins, sorghum, sugar cane, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, native trees, turf and watermelons – you will even find cotton! A lot of these farms can be seen taking a drive along the Mareeba/Dimbulah Road. However, please note DO NOT ENTER PROPERTY WITHOUT APPROVAL FROM THE OWNER.
