What happens after hours at the Museum?

Moulin Rouge: A successful fundraising event with glitz and glamour.

The Mareeba Heritage Centre and award-winning Dream State Entertainment hosted the event that tickled and delighted in all the right places. With everything from door prizes for best dressed and hilarious comedy tours, to sword swallowers, fire eaters and belly dancing aerialists the event aimed to please.

For one night only, this was a rare opportunity for guests to engage and celebrate a adults only evening out.  Guests dressed to impress in scintillating costumes and everyone enjoyed the fusion of glamor, music and carnival.  It was magnificent!

The Centre’s back deck was the focal point for the evening with the museum bathed in alluring lights and dressed in red and gold velvet drapes.  Dream State Entertainment provided multiple themed performances over the evening and weaved into the night was music from Blue Reed Band.  Every hour pop up cameo performances by talented performers were on show through out the Museum with juggling, acrobats, swords and fire.   There was a pop up knife throwing arena for guests to “Have a go” and special “Jamieson by Night” Tours with Vula and Aunty Betty from Comedy Tours plus the amazing Ronelles performed to promote Mareeba Theatre Groups end of year production Sister Act The Movie!

Golden Drop Winery, Skybury Farms and Coffee Works designed and supplied the evenings cocktails competed for the “Best Tasting Cocktail” and the most “Sought After Cocktail” awards.   It was a close contest with Red Lady awarded the Best Tasting Cocktail and the Tropical Gold’n Mango Bliss the Most Sought After Cocktail.  Espresso Yourself Martini was given a mention as it was a worthy contestant.

The “Most Fabulous Moulin Outfit Award” presented by The Express was awarded to Kerry Landford of Atherton and Maria Pizzolato from Innisfail.

Plus there was over $2500 of spot prizes given out during the evening from the following generous supporters:  Savannah in the Round; Claude Cater Mensland; Emerald Creek Ice-Creamery; Hot Air Balloon Cairns; Paronella Park; Cairns Aquarium; Comedy Tours; Mareeba Heritage Coffee House, Golden Drop Winery, Skybury Farms and Coffee Works.

The Museum looked regal draped in velvet red and gold and guests dressed for the occasion with fabulous, risque and sexy outfits the evening was something to behold.

It was a fabulously fun and energetic evening with 100% of ticket sales going to Mareeba Heritage Museum exhibits.
