The Mareeba Heritage Centre is excited to launch a video aimed at attracting visitation to Mareeba.  This is their second video as part of the Let’s Meet in Mareeba Video Series.

Mareeba, Our History is your Journey

The short video promotes the region as an historical epicentre and encourages viewers to head to Mareeba to experience our history and heritage first-hand.

The Mareeba Heritage Centre team encourages visitors to start at the Mareeba Heritage Museum and Visitor Information Centre to ask where they can find some of the Mareeba’s best cultural heritage attractions, historic buildings, archaeological sites, galleries, murals and museums.

A few of the wonderful places to visit are:  The Mareeba Heritage Museum, Mareeba / Mareeba Historical Society, Mareeba / Loudoun House, Irvanbank / Freethinker Cottage, Irvanbank / FNQ Aviation Museum, Mareeba / Dimbulah Railway Station, Dimbulah / Tom Prior Ford Museum, Chillagoe / Chillagoe Court House Heritage Museum, Chillagoe / Uniting Church Heritage listed building, Mareeba / WWII Historical Markers, Mareeba / Davies Creek Rock Art, Mareeba / Murals / Memorials, Shire.

The team also suggests that visitors include in their travel plans the Mareeba Multicultural Festival and to book a Pioneer Cemetery Tour.  The Mareeba Rodeo also plays a huge role in the town’s history, with the first one held in 1949.  Be sure to mark this on your travel calendar too!

This video is a beautiful depiction of our regions many cultural and heritage places.

Filmed by internationally-experienced film maker, Catherine Jarvis.  A Mareeba local Catherine’s passion and life journey in the film industry helps viewers tap into their imagination and entice them to search out the stories depicted in the film.  The production of this project was managed by Dan Harvey, of Earth Story Productions.

Another initiative delivered by the Mareeba Heritage Centre.
